Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Data Analyst to support enterprise analytics for a large industrial machinery client. This is a hands-on, technical role focused on improving data quality, managing complex datasets, and building strong data foundations to support analytics, automation, and AI initiatives. You’ll work closely with IT and a growing AI team to ensure data is reliable, well-documented, and analytics-ready.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze large, complex datasets (millions of rows) across structured and unstructured sources
  • Work within data lakes and Microsoft Fabric environments
  • Write efficient SQL and Python to extract, transform, validate, and clean data
  • Identify data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies; implement sustainable fixes and automated checks
  • Normalize and structure data to enable advanced analytics, trend analysis, and pattern discovery
  • Translate technical and business requirements into clear analytical outputs
  • Create and maintain data documentation (definitions, structures, lineage, glossaries)
  • Collaborate with IT, Analytics, and a small AI team on data pipelines and analytics initiatives
  • Support data governance efforts, including metadata management, observability, and data quality frameworks
  • Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience

5 years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or related roles

  • Strong SQL and Python skills
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets (millions of rows)
  • Hands-on experience with data validation, cleanup, and quality analysis
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data sources
  • Exposure to tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Excel, data lakes, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate root causes independently
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
  • Experience with data governance or metadata tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
  • Familiarity with AI and automation concepts, and identifying opportunities to apply them
  • Bilingual in French and English
