About The Role The Senior Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making within Canadian Tire's network performance division. Reporting directly to the Manager of Analytics & Store Support, this position requires a highly skilled professional capable of leveraging advanced automation tools, particularly KNIME, and applying AI-driven methodologies to optimize data pipelines, perform sophisticated statistical analyses, and generate actionable insights. The role involves leading cross-functional collaborations to support key applications, improve existing models, and explore AI and machine learning opportunities to assess and enhance network health.
The Senior Data
Analyst will be responsible for developing comprehensive dashboards and reports, translating complex data into accessible insights for stakeholders across the organization. They will also partner with business stakeholders to incorporate new data sources, develop innovative solutions to business challenges, and influence strategic decision-making through data. This role demands a proactive, innovative mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, insights-obsessed environment.
Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of experience in analytics, with a proven impact in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Expertise in SQL; proficiency in Python or R
- Strong experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau
- Advanced skills in Excel, including automation and modeling
- University degree or College Diploma in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields (asset)
- Comprehensive understanding of data modeling, statistical analysis, and business insights generation
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of industry-standard data warehousing technologies such as Cloudera and Snowflake
- Experience with automation platforms like Power Automate, Power Apps, and Excel VBA (asset)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Leverage advanced automation tools, especially KNIME, to develop and optimize data pipelines and models
- Apply AI and machine learning techniques to assess network health and identify improvement opportunities
- Review and enhance existing key applications within the division, incorporating statistical methods to support findings
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and reports, translating complex data into actionable insights
- Partner with business stakeholders to integrate new data sources and support ad hoc analysis requests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and develop data-driven, AI-enhanced solutions
- Query, extract, and transform raw data from multiple data warehouses for detailed analysis of customer interactions
- Improve reporting tools using KNIME, MS Excel, and BI platforms
- Define data requirements and work with engineering teams to implement analyst-ready data solutions
- Act as the Network Performance data steward, ensuring data quality and proper management practices
- Influence decision-making processes by providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis
- Competitive salary range between $53,000 and $88,000 per annum, commensurate with experience
