Database Developer

ey Responsibilities:

• Design and develop database schemas, tables, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects for Oracle, Cassandra, and Spark environments.
• Develop logical and physical data models that meet business requirements and ensure data integrity, consistency, and performance.
• Design, develop, and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move data between different database platforms and data sources, using tools like Apache Spark, Apache NiFi, or Oracle Data Integrator.
• Optimize database performance by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, tuning queries, and implementing indexing strategies.
• Write complex SQL queries and NoSQL queries (CQL) to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data.
• Develop Spark applications using Python to process large datasets and perform data analytics.
• Design and implement data warehousing solutions using Oracle, Cassandra, and Spark, following best practices for data modeling, ETL, and reporting.
• Implement data security measures to protect sensitive data, including encryption, access control, and auditing.
• Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, application developers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop appropriate data solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for database designs, ETL processes, and other data-related solutions.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in database development, data warehousing, and big data processing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in database development, with a strong focus on Oracle, Cassandra, and Spark.
• Expert-level knowledge of Oracle database architecture and development, including SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of Cassandra NoSQL database, including data modeling, CQL, and cluster administration.
• Proficiency in Apache Spark, including Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, and Spark MLlib.
• Experience with ETL tools and techniques.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices.
• Experience with data modeling tools and techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud Spanner) is a plus.
