Your Mission
Represent BioScript Solutions and uphold the company’s values by providing compassionate, patient-centered service.
Maintain security of all deliveries while in transit.
Maintain a professional, respectful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
Ensure every interaction reflects BioScript’s commitment to quality care and trust.
Execute the most efficient delivery routes with the assistance of a Route Optimization System Review, load, and transport scheduled deliveries to patients.
Follow cold chain protocols to ensure proper handling and storage of temperature-sensitive medications.
Maintain a general understanding of the medications being dispensed and their specific requirements for storage and handling.
Provide patient-specific services, including:
Allowing adequate time for patients to respond to the door.
Calling ahead of arrival when requested.
Knocking louder if necessary or requested.
Re-attempting deliveries when required and determining the best course of action if a delivery cannot be completed as expected.
Offer cooler return services at the point of delivery Return coolers and their contents to the pharmacy for processing.
Adhere to all pharmacy protocols related to medication transport, cold chain handling, and patient confidentiality.
Ensure all deliveries are documented in system and complete required reporting at the end of each day.
Unload any undelivered items and process returned coolers, re-allocating supplies to the proper location for reuse.
Communicate with pharmacy team about delivery changes, issues, or concerns.
Escalate and/or report delivery incidents, driver incidents, adverse events, patient concerns or urgent matters as required.
Meet or exceed performance metrics established for the role.
Perform daily vehicle walkaround and monthly vehicle inspection to ensure safety and maintenance standards.
Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or safety concerns immediately according to the Safe Driving Policy.
May require flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on pharmacy and patient needs.
Qualifications: Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
Experience
Previous experience in pharmacy, healthcare, or medical delivery is an asset.
Skills Knowledge of cold chain logistics and medication handling procedures is an asset.
Familiarity with delivery tracking tools is an asset.
Ability to operate delivery route software (ROS) and complete necessary incident reporting.
Strong reliability, adaptability, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with an empathetic and customer-service-oriented approach.
Ability to manage time efficiently and collaborate effectively with pharmacy team.
Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading medications, coolers, and other deliveries (up to 40lbs).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling patient information.
English proficiency is required for this position to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Bilingualism (French and English) may be required depending on the specific role, location, and the needs of the organization.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions: This position involves frequent physical activity, including bending, reaching,
lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds. The role requires extended periods of driving, and the work may be performed in various weather conditions,
such as heat, cold, rain, and snow.
Compensation: At BioScript, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location. We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
