Director AI Engineering

Position Description CGI is Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 50 years, we continue to grow. We are building a new AI engineering capability within our Toronto Financial Services (TFS) business unit, serving clients across Banking, Insurance, and Wealth Management.

We are looking for a Director, Consulting Services to build and lead this new capability. This is a people leadership role with accountability for the team, delivery, and client relationships. The AI engineering team will report to this role, including Forward Deployed Engineer / AI Co-op, Agentic AI Engineers, Founding AI Engineers, and the Distinguished AI Engineer.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will stay close to the work by building demos, helping shape complex solutions, and setting technical direction alongside the team. As a player-coach, you will develop people, build trusted client relationships, grow the capability, and remain actively engaged in how solutions are designed and built.

This role is hybrid and requires you to work from our downtown Toronto office and/or client office a minimum of two days per week, subject to change at any time.
