This position is ideal for recent engineering graduates who are passionate about using digital technologies to support environmental performance, clean energy, and sustainable infrastructure.
In this role, you will be working on SCADA systems that enable renewable energy integration, energy efficiency, grid reliability, and environmental monitoring.
You will gain hands-on experience in automation, data systems, and industrial networking - critical technologies for Canada's low‑carbon future.You will receive mentorship from experienced engineers and participate in real projects that help utilities and energy operators operate more efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
SCADA Development Supporting Environmental & Clean‑Tech ProjectsDevelop custom graphical interfaces that provide real‑time visibility of energy usage, environmental parameters, renewable generation performance, and power system status.
Develop custom automation scripts that improve system efficiency, reduce operational energy waste, and support sustainable grid operations.
Interface SCADA applications with field devices using industry protocols to enable accurate environmental and operational data collection.
Cybersecure, Low‑Carbon Digital InfrastructureImplement secure authentication and credential‑based logins that protect critical infrastructure and support safe operation of renewable and high‑efficiency energy assets.
Work with SCADA systems used in wind, solar, battery storage, and high‑efficiency electrical systems gaining insights into how digitalization supports climate and sustainability goals.
Engineering Testing & Quality Assurance
Develop Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) plans, ensuring clean‑tech systems operate safely and efficiently.
Support configuration, testing, and documentation for SCADA systems used in environmentally focused utility and infrastructure projects.
Field Experience & Commissioning
Travel to site locations to participate in the commissioning and integration of SCADA systems.
Gain exposure to modern grid assets, renewable installations, and digital environmental monitoring equipment.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology.
Strong understanding of computers, operating systems, and general IT environments.
Understanding of networking principles, including firewalls and routing.
Knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS).
Experience with TCP/IP, Modbus, DNP, OPC, SQL.
Familiarity with authentication servers, virtual machines, and operating system configurations.
Experience with database design and data interfacing.
Understanding of programming concepts and languages: VB Script, Java, Python, C.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High motivation to learn new clean‑tech and digital technologies.

Ethernet/IP networks, serial communications
Tools & Technologies
Cybersecurity tools (WireShark, Nmap)
SCADA vendor platforms such as GE, SEL, Cooper, SUBNET, ABB, Siemens, Schneider, Belden, Trihedral (VTScada)
Exposure to renewable energy systems, utilities, high‑voltage infrastructure, or clean‑tech environments.
Knowledge of power systems engineering and electrical grid operations.
