Job Title Senior Java Full Stack Developer Location Toronto Canada 4 days a week on site not negotiable Duration 12 months and possible Contract-To-Hire any time after 90 days Job Description: CGEMJP00360308 - Senior Java Full Stack Developer - Toronto Canada 4 days a week on site not negotiable JOB DESCRIPTION: Role Summary Experience: 5+ years Employment Type: Full-time or Contract Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Developer to design and deliver scalable enterprise applications within a complex financial-services environment. The role will focus on Java and Spring Boot microservices, Angular or React user interfaces, REST APIs, Kafka-based event processing, cloud platforms, and containerized deployments. The ideal candidate will have experience building secure, high-volume applications and collaborating across architecture, product, quality engineering, DevOps, and support teams.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and enhance Java and Spring Boot microservices. Build responsive web interfaces using Angular or React. Develop secure and reusable RESTful APIs for enterprise integrations.

Implement synchronous and event-driven integrations using REST and Apache Kafka. Support client, account, transaction, payment, and preference-processing workflows. Design services using microservices, event-driven, and domain-driven architecture principles.

Develop automated unit, functional, integration, and performance tests. Create mock services and event simulators for end-to-end testing. Perform application performance testing and troubleshoot latency or throughput issues.

Deploy and support applications on OpenShift, Kubernetes, or AWS container platforms. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, Spring Security, and token-based access controls.

Monitor distributed applications using Prometheus, Grafana, and application logs.

Optimize

MongoDB and PostgreSQL queries, indexes, and data-access patterns. Participate in Agile planning, design reviews, code reviews, production releases, and incident resolution. Identify application defects, security vulnerabilities, and opportunities for technical improvement.

Required Skills Strong hands-on development experience with Java 8 or later. Advanced experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, and microservices.

Experience developing REST APIs and distributed backend services. Hands-on experience with Angular or React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

Experience with Apache Kafka and asynchronous message processing.

Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

Experience deploying applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift. CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Git, Maven, or Gradle.

Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Spring Security.

Experience with JUnit, Postman, and performance-testing tools. Understanding of Agile delivery and the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Skills Experience with AWS services and EKS or ECS.

Experience working within banking, payments, financial services, or another regulated industry. Familiarity with PCI-DSS-aligned application controls.

Experience implementing Prometheus and Grafana monitoring. Exposure to fraud detection, anomaly detection, or risk analytics integrations. Knowledge of Redis and performance-testing tools such as JMeter.
