We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a FullStack Java Developer for our Financial Services client. This role is a 1-year contract with good chance of extension or going Full/Time; Hybrid, onsite two days per week in downtown Toronto.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Our client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join the Wealth Management Servicing team and support the design, development, deployment, and operation of business-critical solutions using Java, Spring Boot, APIs, microservices, UI frameworks, DevOps practices, and AWS cloud technologies.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your Role:
- Develop and deploy features in Scrum mode to maximize the value of projects by fulfilling Business’ expected NFRs and SLAs.
- Create innovative solutions and ensure the quality of deliverables with automated unit testing.
- Resolve technical challenges and actively participate in improving the architecture of our applications.
- Work with product teams to translate needs into functional solutions.
- Experiment and execute proofs of concepts (POCs).
- Challenge architecture design to enable efficient operation and high availability of the technology solutions deployed.
- Lead incidents and organize incident postmortems.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
- Share technical expertise and contribute to the skill development of team members.
Your Team The IT Wealth Management Sector consists of over 1500 specialists working in an agile, proactive, and collaborative manner to seize opportunities and improve processes.
Within the Wealth Management Servicing group, you would be part of a close-knit team of 25 colleagues and report to a Senior Director. Our client aims to offer maximum flexibility with a hybrid work environment and flexible hours.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, with 3-5+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in Microservices and API architecture with Java (Spring Boot), and integrations like JMS/IBM MQ/Kafka.
- Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Java 8+, and UI frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Good understanding of DevOps Tools (IaC, GIT, JSON, YAML, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Junit, GitHubAction/Harnes, HELM, Ansible, Terraform, HashiCorp Vault) • Good understanding of DevSecOps principles and Observability practice with Datadog, Cloud Watch and Splunk.
- Knowledge of various technologies such as Postgres, MongoDB, Istio, Redis, SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as AWS Cloud technologies.
- Excellent Knowledge of Quality testing and Security concepts (KMS, SSO, Data Encryption,…).
- Experience with AWS cloud technology (service development, deployment, automation, and operations).
- Knowledge of agile methodology to adopt and adopt software development best practices, such as automated testing, code review, and DevOps techniques.

PAY DISCLOSURE:
The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:
- Junior: 0–5 years of experience — $80–$90/hr
- Intermediate: 6–9 years of experience — $90–$98/hr
- Senior: 10+ years of experience — $98–$106.25/hr
Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
