Must Haves
- 3–5+ years of backend development experience building scalable, highly available systems in production environments.
- Strong backend experience using JavaScript, primarily in Node.js or serverless (Lambda) environments.
- Hands-on experience building backend services using AWS Lambda, including writing JavaScript functions that programmatically interact with AWS services via the AWS SDK for JavaScript.
- Strong AWS experience with real-world implementations involving services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS (Fargate), EC2, DynamoDB, and S3.
- Experience designing, deploying, and operating RESTful APIs in cloud-native environments.
- Working experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally AWS CDK (CloudFormation or Terraform acceptable).
- Solid understanding of backend fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and system design, and the ability to apply them to real-world problems.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and cost-effective backend solutions.
- Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, collaborating closely with product, architecture, and security teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions, trade-offs, and design choices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Background in financial services, fintech, or large-scale enterprise environments
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, CQRS, or serverless best practices
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Developer)
