Lead Software Developer (GenAI and Agentic Systems)

OpenText Content Aviator is an AI-powered assistant that enhances enterprise content management with generative AI and large language models. It enables conversational search, content summarization, and translation directly within OpenText platforms. By automating repetitive tasks, it boosts productivity and helps users find relevant business content faster.
We are seeking a visionary and technically strong Lead Software Developer to drive the development of cutting-edge AI-powered applications. In this leadership role, you will guide a team of developers in building intelligent systems using LangChain, LangGraph, , python and Large Language Models (LLMs), with a focus on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
You will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the product, mentoring team members, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver scalable, high-impact AI solutions.
The product will be a flagship platform in document and information management, leveraging advanced AI capabilities to transform how organizations manage and interact with their data.
As a Lead Software Developer, you will:
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers.
Architect and oversee the development of AI-driven applications using LangChain and LangGraph.
Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend services.
Drive the optimization of RAG pipelines to enhance LLM performance with external data sources.
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to integrate LLMs into production systems.
Champion best practices in code quality, performance, and maintainability.
Stay ahead of advancements in AI, LLMs, and related technologies to inform strategic decisions.
What You Need To Succeed
7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
Strong proficiency in Python.
Hands-on experience with LangChain and LangGraph.
Deep understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG techniques.
Experience integrating vector databases (e.g., pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) with LLMs.
Proven ability to lead complex projects and mentor developers.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and a collaborative mindset.
Proven track record of successfully shipping AI-powered products to market
Hands-on experience designing and implementing production-grade RAG pipelines using LangGraph, from retrieval strategy to stateful graph orchestration
Experience with Google Gemini, OpenAI, or open-source LLMs (e.g. LLaMA, Mistral).
Background in NLP, knowledge graphs, or semantic search.
Contributions to open-source AI/LLM projects.
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools for AI systems.

$103,250 - $153,250; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
