Job description

We need a highly self-motivated, talented and detail-oriented Quality Engineer who will be involved in all aspects of SDLC.

You will be reporting to the Director, Quality Engineering and will contribute to collaboration with peers to deliver high quality solutions in a fast-moving agile development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Should have experience in Manual testing.
  • Sound knowledge of Relational Databases (ex. Oracle, SQL server etc.) and should be proficient in Query writing including all kinds of joins and subqueries.
  • Should be able to read/write and modify XML and Json docs as required in business workflows.
  • Knowledge of manual API testing (conceptual knowledge about soap and Rest)
  • Good understanding of Agile framework.
  • Execute test cases strategy/plans and update test documentation, create reports/traceability matrix back to requirements.
  • Coordinate test planning and support with partners (e.g., Business, Dev, PM’s etc.) and support all testing activities across various products and applications.
  • Work on document creation, review, sign-off, defect logging, conducting RCAs for issues, closure reports, entry/exit criteria and gatekeeping.
  • Coordinate code deployments, maintenance upgrades and project testing.
  • Excellent communicator, ability to focus and prioritize tasks, ensure milestones are completed per schedule.
  • Communicate and address scope changes that may impact testing (timeline, cost, risk etc.)
  • Propose and own ideas to continuously improve test coverage.
  • Identify areas of regression for manual and automation testing per release.
  • Good knowledge of test management tools and Jira.
  • Participate in estimation, planning and execution of testing tasks.

Skills/Experience Requirements

  • 5 years of proven experience in defining, developing, and owning manual testing.
  • Working knowledge in P & C insurance preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Flexible in working as both an individual and a team player.

Selection Process

  • Interested candidates will be asked to take a basic written test which involves questions around behavior, QA practices and SQL.
  • Candidates moving forward from the written test would have a 45-minute video discussion with the Director - Quality Engineering
  • The final round would be an in-person discussion with Director - Quality Engineering and Development Director.
