Job Summary

Cogency Inc. is seeking a skilled React JS Frontend Developer to build modern, responsive, and high-performing web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in React, frontend architecture, and UI performance optimization, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive web applications using React JS
• Build reusable, scalable, and high-quality UI components
• Implement state management and optimize application performance
• Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs
• Collaborate with backend developers, designers, and QA teams
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve UI/UX issues and performance bottlenecks
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design
• Contribute to UI/UX improvements and frontend architecture decisions
• Maintain clean, well-documented, and testable code

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years of experience in frontend development
• Strong hands-on experience with React JS (components, hooks, lifecycle)
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6 ), HTML5, and CSS3
• Experience with state management (Redux, Context API, or similar)
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs
• Strong understanding of responsive design and UI best practices
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with TypeScript
• Familiarity with modern frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, etc.)
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Work Model

• Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite in Calgary
• In-person interview is mandatory in Calgary or Montreal
