Amca is building America’s new industrial base. Since the 1990s, our ability to build new aviation and military systems and maintain the ones we already have has eroded. Today, the gap between what the nation needs to produce and what it is capable of producing is the largest it has been in generations.

To help close that gap, Amca rapidly develops and manufactures new critical components and subsystems required to build and sustain the planes, military vehicles, and core infrastructure America needs. Today, we operate seven factories nationwide, including our advanced prototyping and testing headquarters in El Segundo, and deliver avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms such as the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, A321, Mk-48, and M1 Abrams.

Overview:

You will own the infrastructure, database, and backend services layer across our product suite. You will keep our systems running, deployments smooth, and databases healthy as our applications scale, working directly with the founder on technical direction and architectural decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Own the Azure Government environment end-to-end
  • Networking, compute, CDN, DNS, secrets management, and bastion access
  • Manage cost and right-sizing across cloud resources
  • Own security posture — network segmentation, identity and access management, and encryption
• Build and operate the deployment and observability stack
  • Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code across dev and prod environments
  • Build and operate CI/CD pipelines from source to production
  • Drive monitoring, alerting, and observability across the stack
• Own the database layer
  • Administer PostgreSQL: schema evolution, query performance, and connection management
  • Own migration strategy across multiple applications sharing a single database instance
  • Implement and maintain row-level security for multi-tenant data isolation
  • Own backup strategy, disaster recovery, and point-in-time recovery
• Manage backend services and infrastructure
  • Manage Node.js API services and background workers on containerized infrastructure
  • Own auth infrastructure, file storage, caching layer, and secrets management

Qualifications:

• Deep PostgreSQL experience — not just writing queries, but understanding execution plans, index selection, vacuum behavior, connection pooling, and row-level security; this is the hardest part of the job
• Terraform proficiency — production modules you've written and maintained yourself; comfortable with state management, import/migration, and debugging provider issues
• Azure experience — container orchestration, managed databases, virtual networking, and identity services; Azure Government experience is a plus
• Node.js / TypeScript — comfortable reading and modifying API routes, understanding async patterns, and debugging production issues
• CI/CD fluency — automated pipelines, container builds, rolling deployments, and migration automation
• Security awareness — network segmentation, least-privilege access, encryption requirements, and ability to have an informed conversation about CMMC/FedRAMP compliance controls
• Plus: familiarity with FedRAMP or CMMC compliance environments, Azure Government (IL4/IL5), or TypeScript-first ORM experience

Annual Salary Range $130,000—$180,000 USD This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
