About The Role Join our AI Agent Engineering team, where we are pioneering cutting-edge HR & Finance AI Agents that deeply integrate within the Workday suite. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled AI Agent Principal Engineer to lead the development of intelligent automation solutions that revolutionize HR and financial workflows.

You will be at the forefront of designing and implementing scalable AI agents utilizing the latest advancements in large language models (LLMs), automation frameworks, and enterprise AI technologies. Your expertise will drive innovation, ensuring seamless integration within the Workday ecosystem, and influence the future direction of AI-driven enterprise solutions. As a leader, you will guide a talented team of engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, agility, and continuous improvement to deliver impactful AI-powered products to our global customer base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in product engineering, with a focus on developing highly available cloud-based products
• 5+ years of proven experience in AI, machine learning, or intelligent automation within enterprise environments
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph
• 5+ years of experience with Python programming and cloud AI services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with AI model deployment, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and fine-tuning LLMs
• Strong understanding of enterprise-grade AI architectures, API integration, and large-scale automation
• Knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance standards related to AI in enterprise systems
• Proven ability to translate complex business challenges into innovative AI solutions that deliver measurable results
• Experience with data collection, labeling, and ongoing monitoring of machine learning models

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers to develop AI-powered agents that integrate deeply into HR and financial workflows
• Define and execute the tooling strategy for AI agent development, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and emerging trends
• Evaluate, select, and integrate AI frameworks, tools, and platforms to ensure scalability, efficiency, and compliance
• Stay current with advancements in AI, LLMs, RAG, autonomous agents, and orchestration frameworks to foster innovation
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineering teams to design and implement AI automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency
• Establish monitoring, feedback loops, and continuous learning mechanisms to improve agent performance over time
• Work with external vendors, cloud providers, and open-source communities to incorporate best-in-class AI technologies
• Ensure AI solutions adhere to data privacy, security, and regulatory standards in enterprise environments
• Drive the adoption of AI-driven innovations in HR and Finance systems, influencing industry standards and practices
