Our BC offices are building another new team! This exciting initiative will bring together highly skilled data scientists, architects and developers to support a large, public sector digital modernization and cloud transformation.

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect (.NET & Azure) to join this team.

The scope of this role is to design and guide the delivery of secure, scalable application and data solutions in a hybrid cloud environment. You will work closely with business leaders, developers, infrastructure teams, and security specialists to modernize enterprise systems, enhance digital services, and improve data quality and operational performance.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Architecture & Solution Design

Design end-to-end solutions for .NET-based applications hosted in Azure (App Services, AKS, Functions, Azure SQL, APIs)

Modernize legacy applications into secure hybrid cloud environments

Produce architecture diagrams, design documentation, and technical decision records

Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise standards

Cloud & Digital Transformation

Contribute to secure hybrid cloud initiatives and Microsoft cloud service adoption

Support digital service enhancements and modernization of customer-facing platforms

Participate in proof-of-concepts and technology evaluations to support innovation

Data & Analytics Enablement

Design data integration patterns supporting enterprise data platforms and analytics initiatives

Support improvements to data quality, governance, and reporting capabilities

Enable secure and scalable APIs for data exchange and analytics use cases

Security & Compliance

Architect solutions aligned with Zero Trust principles and cloud security best practices

Identify and mitigate security and privacy risks in application and infrastructure design

Support security reviews, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives

Collaboration & Delivery

Partner with development teams to ensure cloud-native design and best practices.

Provide architectural oversight throughout project delivery phases

Evaluate solution alternatives, identify trade-offs, and provide cost and risk recommendations.

Support transition to operations and knowledge transfer activities

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

5+ years of experience in solution architecture or senior .NET development roles

Strong expertise in: ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, distributed systems Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, serverless, networking, identity) Cloud-native and API-driven architecture

Experience designing solutions in regulated or enterprise environments

Working knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code

Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate risks, costs, and trade-offs

Preferred Qualifications

Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect)

Experience with containerization (Docker, AKS) and microservices architecture

Exposure to enterprise data platforms, data warehousing, or analytics environments

Experience supporting digital transformation or cloud migration programs

Key Competencies

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical insight

Collaborative mindset and experience working across multi-disciplinary teams

Commitment to quality, security, and continuous improvement

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000 - $160,000.
