As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. As a Staff Software Developer, Android XR System Apps, you will set technical direction and participate in the design and development of a next-generation UI for Glasses. Working closely with other developers and cross-functional teams, you will design, prototype, build, and launch new user experiences that enable users to interact in new and delightful ways through XR devices. You will set technical direction for multiple apps including device companion apps for connected mobile phones, out-of-box experience, tutorials, settings, and apps related to fit and calibration.
You will incorporate emerging technologies such as spatial interactions and AI-powered multi-modal conversational interfaces to provide more delightful ways for users to set up XR devices, learn about them, and optimize comfort and usability.

We're building a future where lightweight XR devices like smart glasses and headsets pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $207,000 - $301,000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
Canada: $216,000 - $222,000 (CAD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
