Responsibilities:
- Refreshing end user hardware (laptops, desktops), including device swaps and data migration as required
- Decommissioning devices and preparing hardware for e-waste (dismantling and segregating equipment)
- Building and imaging PCs (notebooks and desktops) using standard images and documented work instructions
- Managing hardware inventory, including counting, organizing stock, and accurately recording serial numbers and asset details
- Deploying new end user hardware (laptops, desktops, and accessories) in accordance with standards and processes
- Performing minor hardware repairs and component upgrades on end user devices
- Providing basic printer and peripheral support for end users
- Interacting with end users professionally and courteously, ensuring a positive support experience
- Troubleshooting performance and configuration issues on end user devices and escalating when appropriate
- Maintaining clear, accurate documentation of configurations, builds, and client environments
- Responding to users experiencing issues with computers and related equipment, primarily via tickets and remote and in-person support A candidate will excel in this role if they:
- Are proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel), Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Slack
- Have experience using and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 10/11, Ubuntu 18.04–24.04, and macOS (MacBook)
- Have experience working in a ticket-based workload management system (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Have experience with inventory tracking and asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Can adapt quickly to changing workload priorities
- Can follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently
Qualification Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in an Information Technology related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze PC issues and identify patterns
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and deliver quality work in an efficient manner
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent English communication skills
- Knowledge of hardware technology and concepts
- Can physically lift 10 lbs.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license – Full G license
Must-have skills:
- Experience working with or troubleshooting hardware or operating systems with • windows, mac, and or Ubuntu
- Personable and able to talk directly with customers over the phone or in person
- Willingness to help and learn
