Dr. Abha Sood is a chemist with experience in biological sciences. She obtained her Ph.D from
University of Massachusetts Boston in 2012. Her area of research was in the synthesis, design and structure activity relationship studies of small molecules against multiple targets involved in
Alzheimer’s pathogenesis. After completing her Ph.D she went on to pursue her post doctorate from University of Texas Medical School. Her research work has been published in various peer reviewed journals.
Sharing her knowledge with others has always been her priority therefore, her passion lies in teaching and mentoring students towards career advancement in the field of sciences. She has over
4 years of teaching experience at Georgia Southern University (GSU) as an assistant professor.
During her stay at GSU she taught General Chemistry I and II course and laboratory, Advanced
Organic chemistry laboratory and nursing chemistry. Along with teaching she has mentored undergraduate and graduate research students. As a teacher she was greatly admired for her availability, giving extra time to students struggling in some areas and listening to students’ needs.
