I am currently enrolled in a 2-year program at Centennial College.
I am chasing the dream, and eager to become a great tech.
have experience working in a multitude of areas. I’ve worked in construction and excelled in my ability to operate an assortment of tools and machinery. I built many cool, custom furniture pieces alongside my coworkers and when we weren't building for a client we were tearing down walls and digging up floors for a different one. This is where I became accustomed to busting my ass. I also worked retail for a year, and this has allowed me to really hone my customer service and satisfaction skills. It has also introduced me to management aspects and admin duties, as I was often tasked with ensuring our shipments were at the warehouse on time, unloaded, and brought out to the floor in an efficient and profitable way. I was then tasked with selling said shipments, often furniture and bicycles. I am currently working at a restaurant, where I am commended for my excellent people-pleasing skills as well as my work ethic.
I also took auto shop for 2 years in high school. It was there that I began my theory and hands-on learning. In the shop, I had the opportunity to perform maintenance and pom inspections, as well as take on a couple more challenging tasks with the help of my teacher, such as replacing an exhaust and removing a dash.
I am currently in a two-year program at centennial college that allows me to graduate as a level 2 apprentice and expedites my red seal. I am in my second semester and with a great deal of breadth and depth from the talented professors I am learning from, we are covering absolutely everything to do with automotive practices. In my first semester, I learned about the operating principles of an internal combustion engine, an introduction to electrical diagnosis (which I was very interested in), and all the basic tools and hardware common in vehicles. In my second semester, we are doing more complex electrical diagnoses topics such as sensors, relays, and digital troubleshooting. I am also well acquainted with the many different suspension, steering, and brake types.
