I am a researcher specializing in greenhouse technology, energy-efficient systems, and climate-smart agriculture, integrating advanced modeling, materials research, and machine learning.
I have over a decade of international research experience in greenhouse technology, energy-efficient systems, and protected agriculture, spanning Spain, South Korea, and Canada. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta, where I lead projects on energy-efficient greenhouse design, climate modeling, and integration of machine learning for environmental control.
Previously, I worked as a Research Professor and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Smart Agriculture Innovation Center in South Korea, focusing on renewable energy systems, climate-smart agriculture, and greenhouse performance optimization. My Ph.D. at Kyungpook National University developed validated models for greenhouse energy and climate assessment, with emphasis on materials, coverings, and passive/active energy-saving technologies.
I have led and contributed to funded projects from Horizon Europe, Mitacs Canada, and the Korea Research Foundation, collaborating with industry and academic partners. Over the years, I have authored 25+ peer-reviewed publications on greenhouse covering materials, climate modeling, energy-saving technologies, and smart control strategies, while mentoring students and training farmers in sustainable greenhouse operations.
