My name is Alan Leung. I have been working in Calgary, Alberta for 10~15 years as an accountant. As a Corporate Accountant, I am under the general direction of the Manager or CFO, my role is to ensures the efficient operation of the general accounting functions for all activities associated with the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Encumbrance, Consumption Tax, month-end and year-end functions.
A business cannot function without knowing how much money is coming in. Understanding revenue is the only way to know if there is cash available to pay staff, make new investments, and grow the company.
At the same time, a business has to know how much money is going out. If expenses are too high, a company can run through cash reserves quickly and end up in trouble.
