Allan Heal

I am a Registered Pharmacist that completed my training at the University of British Columbia. I was born in Creston BC, and I have traveled across the Kootenays during my training and education. I have completed vocational training in Cranbrook, Golden, and Trail.

I have also worked in five different stores while working as a Floater Pharmacist for Loblaws including Cranbrook, Fernie, Creston, Trail, and Grand Forks. In total, I have experience in more than ten different stores throughout the Kootenays. This experience has allowed me to develop a unique understanding of the Kootenays, and the distribution of health care services within it.

I am a Pharmacist that was licensed in February 2020 at the start of the pandemic. This has made me adaptive in practice, as our guidelines have rapidly changed in response to the pandemic and ever-changing health care demand. I have been working and adjusting my skill set in a rapidly expanding scope of practice since I was licensed.

I am looking to expand my knowledge, and develop a better understanding of best practices and operating procedures while I further my career.

Staff Pharmacist - Safeway Pharmacy - Cranbrook, BC

• I am registered to provide Minor Ailments prescribing.
• I am certified to administer injections by intramuscular and subcutaneous routes.
• I have experience working alone in the pharmacy, as well as working with large teams of pharmacists and assistants ranging from myself to ten or more employees.
• I have experience with Prescription Adaptation including renewals, directions for use modified, formulation changes, and therapeutic substitution.
