Group Practice Director Operations/ Clinical Practice Director – Infectious Disease Division/Specialty Infusion Center/Division of Research – Multi-site, (09/2018 – current)

Overseeing the Infectious Disease Division (Research, Grants, Budgets and Clinic) as well as creating and leading the Specialty Infusion Centre. This center was opened during the pandemic. My positions have been overall operations for the forementioned departments.
I responsible for all of the finances, business plans, and ventures to increase revenue as well as: to plan and implement strategies, service and sales strategies, goals and objectives appropriate to the departments operations, delegates work based on acuity, employee engagement, collects and monitors data and evaluate through observation as well as budgeting, relatable revenues and fiscal responsibilities (> 70 million dollar inclusive operating budgets ensuring positive departmental revenues). I am the divisional lead for system initiatives of Key Performance Indicators and metrics that need to be met. I am the communication between the inpatient sector and outpatient sector within the hospital attending meetings and demonstrating leadership for the Infectious Disease Division/Specialty Infusion Centre.
I advise physicians with the business aspect of the Division including budgeting, ROI development, RVU’s, initiatives and lead department initiatives to improve revenues. I have been the sole leader, leading special projects and system initiatives setting up new departments such as the MAB (monoclonal antibody infusion centers). I have had primary involvement in the startup, development and all clinical operation for many different research projects including vaccination trials for Covid, working closely with the TCRC manager within HFH.
Ensuring timelines, quality standards, all clinical aspects in place, regulatory measures were met as well as overall day to day operations running smoothly throughout the various trials.
I provide communication to our staff, advocate for staff as well as patients/families, am a clinical resource, leader, educator, and mentor. I maintain a working knowledge of hospital policies, Federal, State and local laws and regulations as well as participate in change within the system. I am a key member in Quality Initiatives, Service Excellence ethics, patient concerns, and professional conduct.
I review and evaluate the nursing staff, hire, promote, and discipline as well as payroll for the departments I oversee. Establish effective working relationships with other departments. Make routine rounding, audit, time keep, payroll, and employee evaluations.

Director of Nursing (Acting Administrator), (06/2012-12/2015)
S&R Group, Heron Terrace Long-term Care Community, Windsor Ontario
Heron Terrace LTC goes beyond the realm of the long-term care environment. A unique facility can provide multiple levels of care for those who require mild to high assistance, and those with specialized needs such as residents with multiple levels of Alzheimer’s. This 140-bed facility employs approximately 200 employees, approximately 140 of those within the nursing department. As a DON, responsible for the day-to-day operation of the unionized nursing department, its financial and budgetary obligations, and all personnel and to discharge in a professional and timely manner. Also, acts as the Administrator of the home when the administrator is out of the building. On call 24 hours a day, 90% of the time.
Incidents reports, heads full investigations, and responsible for interviewing, hiring, and terminating personnel as needed, and performance appraisals.
Experience in Health & Safety, WSIB, and RTW programs to result in no lost time. Focus on the Resident Centred approach promoting a caring community and quality of life for our residents. Complies with Ministry regulations and oversees many committees such as Quality Initiatives, Infection Control, Health and Safety, Falls Prevention, Palliative Care, and Wound Management to name a few. I have direct involvement in daily union matters and the negotiation process. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: conflict resolution amongst staff, unit meetings on a monthly basis, addressing and assessing staffing needs as well as resident needs, overseeing ordering of supplies, correspond and set-up bed offers with CCAC, direct interaction with the BSO team and mental health issues with residents, coaching and guiding staff, managing 140 beds, addressing all family and resident’s concerns and needs on a daily basis, dealing with day-to-day operations, employee and resident/family comments and complaints, and communicating with all levels of employees within the LTC community as well as the company. Maintaining the nursing supplies and staffing within the budget, developing yearly budgets, and becoming creative within the means of the budget granted. I am also responsible for being the interim Administrator for extended periods of time when needed therefore responsible for overseeing all the managers in the home.
I am currently taking Master's degree classes. I currently have a BScN.
