My name is Andrew Schembri, I hold a bachelors of science in kinesiology with a medicinal physiology focus form the university of waterloo. I am now completing my RN at the university of toronto in the accelerated stream. I will get my license in July after passing my NCLEX. After one year of work I intend to get my MN. I am very eager to branch into pharma, particularly in a Medical Science Liaison role as it is what I am highly passionate about. I will surely give the role my all, as this is my goal in my career. It combines my love for science, business and patient care. This is a job I will excel at, despite minimal experience in an MSL role, I come with a highly adaptable and driven personality that will enable me to excel in this role.
My experience involves largely co-op from my kinesiology degree at UW. This includes research experience in a neuroscience lab on campus. Here I presented my research findings on stroke rehab at the SONA conference at the university of guelph. I also worked in a translational research lab at the ottawa hospital. Here I worked towards a large systematic review that is going to be sent for publication in Nature Reviews upon its completion. I also have Pharma experience where I was in a Commercial Operations role at Gilead. I was then hired on as a part time Commercial Operations Associate while I completed my degree at UW and before nursing school. I also have other miscellaneous experience working in the sales department at Crunch Fitness where I lead the part time employees in membership sales.
