Hey! My name is Andrew and I'm an aspiring Data Scientist with a passion for statistical analysis. I am an avid learner with a broad range of interests, and I am constantly working on acquiring new skills outside of my coursework at McMaster University. I love working with data in any way that I can, from new projects, to simply using Python or Excel to help me answer everyday questions. Recently I have been learning more about the fast-growing field of machine learning.
Languages, Libraries, and Tools: Python (including matplotlib, Pandas, and NumPy), RStudio, SQL, MATLAB, NetLogo, Microsoft Office, VS Code
I have worked as a Private Academic Tutor for over two years now, during which time all of my clients saw an increase in their grades of at least 10%. I successfully provided support in necessary areas, and effectively and succinctly shared knowledge with various students by adapting my communication skills.
I am in my third year of Honours Integrated Science at McMaster University with a Concentration in Mathematics and Statistics. Throughout my undergraduate degree, I have maintained 3.9/4.0 GPA, and worked on various projects that require statistical analysis with a wide range of topics: statistical bias correction in meta-analyses, the influence of climate change on the frequency of natural disasters, and an introductory guide to statistics in RStudio, to name a few.
