I am currently a Sonographer in the US. I am immigrating to Ottawa and am hoping to find a job offer so I can start my application with the Atlantic Immigration Program. I am available to start work immediately from here in the US while I am getting settled in Ottawa. Due to my sonography position, I am very detail oriented, and I am capable of typing quickly and accurately.
For years, I was an educator in the high tech industry, then I had children and was fortunate enough to be at home with my children. During this time I volunteered in the schools to help students get up to grade with the reading. After that, I went back to school to become a sonographer. I have been a sonographer for 11 years and work with all ages of patients. I also work independently, coordinating with the doctors to give the patients the best exam possible. As a teacher and sonographer, I have had full autonomy in my work environment. I am self motivated, efficient with my time, able to multitask, work quickly but accurately and took on extra tasks when time allowed.
My bachelors in Humanities gave me lots of typing practice for all of the papers I had to write. Humanities courses are heavy in reading literature and writing about it as well as summarizing art and for me architecture. Since then my education for my sonography career would be the next most relevant. My learning style is such that I would retype all of the class lectures, so I spent hours typing up lectures.
