During the time I have been in post secondary education, I have been able to maintain and excel in the position I have as a supervisor. Although very difficult, being able to time manage college courses, volunteering, and working full time has helped me in developing certain skills. These skills consist of leadership, teamwork, problem solving and critical thinking, working independently, and applying theory to real life situations. These skills have all been enhanced as I transferred from college to univeristy as more stressful situations present themselves.
Volunteering with both Big Brothers, Big sisters of Guelph and North Durham has helped me gain experience working with individuals struggling with mental health. From this, I have been able to implement theory into real life situations.
Currently I am enrolled in the psychology course at Guelph University. In this program, I have been conducting extensive research in the different aspects on how psychology affects a persons life.
This includes, but not limited to, psychology of education, psychology of law, sports psychology, how we create associations, and how psychology is incorporated into our development.
Not only have I conducted extensive research into psychology, but I have also gained relevant knowledge with the statistics involved with it. This includes using posit cloud, using r code, and understanding p values and how they are involved with hypostasis satistcal testing.
