Gap in employment was due to immigrating to Canada, awaiting the arrival of work permit, complications from the global pandemic and being a stay-at-home mother. Employment prior to September 2016 includes customer service, food service, and light secretarial work. Details can be provided upon request.

Special Education Paraprofessional-Intense at Elkhart Central High School (2018-09 – 2019-11)

• Attended general education classes with assigned students (through an inclusion program)
• Provided student support through special accommodations, extra assistance and assessments.
• Collaborated with teacher to create customized classroom environment that was integral to students' needs.
• Alerted SpEd teacher(s) to student behavior or issues that needed to be addressed.
• Accompanied students to restroom, to cafeteria, on field trips, and to jobsites (drove activity bus when assigned).
• Delivered effective and differentiated classroom instruction to range of neurodiverse students.
• Help students with personal care and hygiene as needed.
• Maintained positive attitude and affirmatively communicated with each student.

Special Education Paraprofessional-Intense at Elkhart Memorial High School (2018-01 – 2018-09)

• Greeted young adults off the buses in the morning, supervise and give support when needed while students complete morning work and chores.
• Assist students with personal care and hygiene (brushing teeth, combing hair, showering, etc.)
• Drive activity buses to take students to scheduled jobs at local businesses to coach/supervise them while they complete their duties
• Monitor students to complete classroom chores throughout the day (washing dishes, laundry).
• Cultivated connections and strong student rapport to foster classroom engagement, in addition to recording student progress to inform SpEd teachers.
• Led activities that developed students' physical, emotional and social growth.

• Assist teacher in implementing classroom tasks and activities (counting money, telling time, cooking, reading and writing, etc.)
• Help students with personal care and hygiene as needed.
• Worked when needed, one-on-one with autism student using tailored behavioral plan.
• Alerted instructor to student behavior or issues that needed to be addressed.
• Accompanied students to restroom, to cafeteria and to outdoor track for play and exercise.
• Supported teacher in development of individual learning strategies.
• Redirected students using Positive Behavior Support (PBS).
