August Zilakovs

I am a passionate software engineering student who is looking for summer employment. I am currently moving onto my junior year I have experience working in both independent and team environments.

I have experience with a numerous programming languages including Java, C#, C, Kotlin, Python and have strong fundamentals on data structures, software design, and algorithms.

Currently I am learning the React JavaScript library in order to both broaden my knowledge on front end development, but also to expand my abilities as a programmer.

Previously I have interned at GAO Tek as a Tech Support Intern. At GAO Tek I had led a team of interns that would write descriptions for various GAO Tek RFID products to be used on the GAO Tek RFID website. At GAO Tek I was also part of a team to learn the Kotlin programming language for Android app development.

Throughout my studies I have worked on a variety of engineering projects with a team where I was lead designer and programmer for the duration of the project.

The more iconic projects being:

•  A hands free linearly increasing pressure capsule that utilized an Arduino to plot and calculate the most optimal pressure increase of a period of time and depending on the current pressure the Arduino would decide if it needs to at more reactant to the capsule. 
• A automatic beehive monitoring system that would measure the hives weight, humidity, and temperature, and depending if any of the values reach a dangerous threshold an automatic email will be sent to the beekeepers notifying them about the hive. Our team was able to reduce the cost to only $45 per beehive and each monitoring system was able to survive the outdoors without any maintenance other than switching the battery every week.
