In my 3rd year of uni prior to graduating, I developed a deep interest in tech where I was exposed to solving complex engineering problems through coding. I continued practicing my coding and took on part time jobs and internships solving problems in web and software development.
After I graduated, I started my first role at LeniLabs as a front end developer for about 3 years. This was a company that served as a third party problem solver for various organizations in need of software solutions. In this role, the first application I built was artgidi.com with a php backend and a reactjs frontend.
Following this I started development of another application known as rex dispatch that was suppose to serve as an avenue for dispatch operations integrating google maps for precise geolocation services and optimized delivery. This was done with ReactJs on the front and Node Js on the backend. Using firebase for real time database management.
Following a successful stinct at LeniLabs, I moved on to an exciting opportunity at OnePort 365. OnePort is a freight forwarding company where I worked as the lead front end developer of our web application and championed the development of a comprehensive booking system for customers who want to get involved in freight forwarding. I Used Typescript as the tool incorporating react js and tailwind css for this project.
I was also involved in daily maintenance work including bug fixes brought up by the quality assurance team in an agile manner.
During this period, I also took on contract jobs with Tunga, a Netherlands-based company that connects developers with contracts from other companies. I worked on a mobile application called Fanect which was designed to be a social platform. I used react native in this process.
I moved to Canada a few months ago in search of other opportunities and career development solving advanced problems and working with teams of great minds. I’m excited by the opportunity to work in with a top company where I have access to difficult technical problems as an avenue to hone my skills, and where I can continue to learn while not always being the smartest in the room.
In my recent role as fullstack developer with OnePort365.
TypeScript, ReactJS and Tailwind CSS, I, developed a comprehensive booking system for freight forwarding using Typescript and Tailwind CSS for the Front-End Development, allowing customers to select shipment types (Import/ Export) and desired services including Ocean Freight, Haulage, Air Freight, Custom Brokerage and Warehousing. And NodeJS for the backend development. In addition, I designed an admin dashboard to monitor key company metrics, including total numbers of customers, shipments, containers, and bookings, facilitating better operational oversight.
I also integrated google-maps-API into the dashboard to allow a display of map view to reveal locations of containers. This ensured transparency between the internal customers (Admin) and external customer, as all parties could track the real time status of cargoes and containers. One of my more notable achievements was developing an interactive section within the admin dashboard for data visualization, where I leveraged my expertise in Front-End technologies such as D3.js and Chart.js.
