I am currently employed by the UK NHS as a Rescue Paramedic/Operative for the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). I provide senior clinical management and leadership as part of the ambulance response to high-risk and complex emergency incidents. I am often the first point of contact and post incident, I compile reports on the incidents that have taken place. Within this role as a rescue paramedic I am qualified in urban search and rescue, swift water rescue, rescue at heights and in confined space, high consequence infectious disease patient transfer as well as training in response to terrorist incidents and chemical, biolological, radiological nuclear and explosive incidents. I assist in scenario and classroom based clinical training for the team and ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to by myself and colleagues daily. However, before achieving this role I was a frontline paramedic attending a wide range of incidents including primary care and mental health where my close relationship with multi disciplinary community teams helped achieve a positive outcome for patients. Before I began my career as a paramedic, I worked in management and instructing across varying industries including Health and Fitness, logistics and security. My current role as a HART Operative coupled with my previous paramedic and managerial experience is what makes me a rounded and employable individual, striving to constantly build on my knowledge and experience whilst creating a motivational, accepting and empathetic working environment for my colleagues and patients.
Though my current role is specific to trauma, I still spend time on ambulances where I can keep up-to date with the primary care aspect of population needs which I thoroughly enjoy as patient care is why I originally trained as a paramedic.
I am currently in the Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Express Entry immigration program. My paramedic university qualification equivalent to a Canadian 4 year bachelors degree (World Education Service approved).
