Hello!
My name is Bianca Gouveia and I'm a pre-professional dancer seeking opportunities in the dance field. I've been dancing since high school and after graduating and intensive mentoring, I realized I want to spread my passion through dance education. I have experience in Hip Hop, choreography, and bits of Jazz Funk, Afro-Fusion, Popping, Locking, and Dancehall.
I spent nearly a year at a company called X Movement, where I traveled to different elementary schools as a youth coach weekly. I delivered health and wellness programs to kindergarten students all through grades seven and eight, including our dance program where I taught various dances such as salsa, soca, Bollywood, afro, K-Pop, and tutting. I learned how to implement appropriate learning structures for kids to learn from as well as crowd management, maintaining child engagement, and adapting to students with special needs.
From 2020 onward, I've been involved in a few intensive programs, geared toward advancing my knowledge, skill, and interpretation of dance within the Hip Hop/Choreography arena. I spent 18 weeks in School of Groove's intensive program being mentored by community professionals and understanding the culture of hip-hop and its foundations. I also spent 4 weeks with Leah Totten in her Boss Dance Company intensive, who introduced me further to choreography and the process behind creating a professional video shoot in which I became involved in.
I'm also currently enrolled in Footnotes Dance Company, founded by Pyro Chung, an industry street dance professional and talent agent. This company is helping me further my training as an artist in street styles such as locking, popping, breaking, and hip-hop.
