As a Registered Dental Hygienist, duties include reviewing and updating medical and dental histories, recording vital signs, performing extraoral and intraoral examinations, periodontal assessments, and charting.
Responsibilities involve developing dental hygiene diagnoses and treatment plans in collaboration with the dentist, obtaining informed consent, and providing clinical services such as scaling, root planing, polishing, debridement, and the application of fluoride, sealants, and desensitizers, as well as administering anesthesia where licensed. Additional tasks include taking and interpreting radiographs, educating clients on oral hygiene, diet, and disease prevention, maintaining strict infection control and sterilization protocols, accurately documenting care, and working collaboratively with the dental team.
Currently working part-time as a Registered Dental Hygienist, bringing over 20 years of experience as a dentist with expertise in restorative, cosmetic, and orthodontic dentistry.
