Bre Quirion

I am an emerging interdisciplinary artist currently based in Manitoba, Canada. I am a proud two-spirit, Cree-Michif woman with an overactive imagination, a wild sense of humour, and a taste for chaos that leads my work in any direction it pleases. That’s what keeps it fun!

Currently building the framework for my practice, my goals involve exploring the experimental crossroads of paint, design, and conceptual art. I am actively seeking a way to harmonize my eccentric fields of interest in order to reach for more ambitious projects. Most themes that call to me are rooted in matters of identity, duality, nature, & Spirit. Frequent interest also arises from mythology, allegory, and the mystical potential that lies within the Great Unknown.

• 4 years of experience as a student research assistant graphic designer, working with the Adobe suite to create publication-grade diagrams and custom pattern systems. My design work is slotted to appear in book form in the near future.
• 10 years of experience as a freelance and contracting artist and designer, specialized in digital illustration and asset building as well as traditional fine art techniques, specifically painting.

• 5y of study at the University of Manitoba, with graduation expected this summer. 
• Double-majored in Graphic Design and Painting streams; 4y of study in each. 
• Graduating with Honours and esteem.
• Two certificates of Indigenous business and leadership, awarded 2023 from SaskPolytechnic and the University of Alberta
