To whom it may concern,
I understand that I do not have the qualifications for the positions that Komatsu is offering but I’m reaching out in the hopes I can possibly get an opportunity or advice in one way or another of how I can create a career with this company.
I started out with absolutely zero mining experience and then worked my way up from the smaller cat trucks. The reason I am writing to you is because the day I got behind the wheel of a Komatsu 830 was the day I fully realized how much I was meant to drive these trucks. Every single operator or shifter or coworker saw it immediately as well and will vouch for my capability.
Below I will add my cover letter but I just wanted to write something specific for this application so I could hopefully find a way to make a future with Komatsu.
Although I’ve only had one year of experience, I was able to be trained and signed off on every type of truck at the mine within that time and gained thorough understanding of them, ie pre trips and mechanical defaults even during times that required quick problem solving and necessary actions to maintain safety for everyone in the vicinity.
Within a year at the coal mine I was at, I became one of the top drivers of my crew and operated every truck on the fleet including cat 85’s, 89’s, and 93’s as well as komatsu 830’s. I was praised for my attention to safety, production efficiency, and crew moral. All of this can be confirmed by references from my superintendent, shifters, operators, and coworkers (all of which have given me their personal phone numbers for the purpose of providing me with a reference for my work ethic and performance).
All I’m asking for is an opportunity because I can assure that you will not regret it.
