Hello!
I am currently working part-time at a health care agency scheduling personal support workers and patients. I am also a full-time student in my last semester in the Social Service Worker program at Sheridan College. I have completed a 600 hour practicum in the SSW field for school class/credits. I have a variety of different jobs I have worked and volunteered at. My main frame of work is professional, non-judgmental, and eager to learn new things to better myself for work.
-Eager to learn and adapt to new things I.e. new technology, new ways of doing certain tasks at hand
-Adaptable to change in shifts and times as well as change in position and job roll/status
-Capable of working with marginalized communities and help them with further needs I.e. helping in the food bank, giving other community resources to the members of the food bank when needed
-Understands the importance of confidentiality when working with clients
-Speak to clients and their families on care needs and scheduling concerns
-Knowledge of health care systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
-Capable of voicing opinions and concerns with managers/supervisors and other members of the team
-2 year College Program in the Social Service Worker Program at Sheridan College Davis Campus
-Took courses mandatory and electives throughout the program
-Main Courses Taken: Social Diversity, Social Service Practice, Psychology Core Concepts, Migration and Settlement Studies, The Helping Process, Social Policy and Justice, Human Development, Crisis Intervention and Trauma, and Group Methods and Facilitation
-Achieved Colleges 600 hour student practicum at the Salvation Army Food Bank in Milton, ON
-Emergency Telecommunications Certificate from Humber College North Campus
