I am a media professional with two decades of experience both writing and designing content for academia, live TV, online ads, and magazine articles. I spent many years at Global News in Alberta and Saskatchewan, so I am quite used to audience-focused work and high-pressure working environments where proof reading is essential. I can write quickly, vet my sources, and edit my own work.

I have also worked as Digital Communications Consultant for the Government of Saskatchewan – Ministry of Highways. While there, I managed their social media, wrote briefing notes and news releases, analyzed and presented online stats for leadership, and gained first-hand experience of the highly collaborative and fast-paced environment of a government office.

Storytelling and writing have always been at the forefront of my skills and passions and I am looking to forward my career as a writer and communications professional. I know my combination of passion, education, and experience would make me a powerful contributor to the media landscape, and to any company.

I hold a MA Degree in Media Studies, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Video Production, and over 20 years diverse experience in digital media, writing and communications, graphic design, and film/TV production and operations. As an academic and digital communications professional, I am passionate about storytelling, accuracy and clarity of messages, and building strong working relationships.

I worked with the Government of Saskatchewan - Ministry of Highways as their Digital Communications Consultant. My responsibilities included writing news and media releases, speeches, preparing a variety of media materials, managing all social media content and campaigns, as well as internal communications and digital display boards. I also analyzed social media trends and their impact, and then created quarterly overviews and plans for continuing to reach and broaden our market.

Previously, I spent several years as a graphic artist and control-room supervisor at Global Edmonton. While there, I played a key role in several branding changes and creative productions, not limited to directing, camera operating, editing, animation, media relations, and graphics. I also worked as the Supervising Technical Producer at Global Regina. This job required the culmination of all my skills and knowledge as I led the operations team through tech changes and live events.
