As a recent graduate of the University of Alberta's Software Engineering Cooperative Program, I am eager to bring my diverse skill set and experience to a new role in software development. During my time at the university, I gained practical experience as a GIS developer at Alberta Energy Regulator and a software quality assurance analyst at Drivewyze, Inc. Additionally, as the president of the Engineering Students' Society at the University of Alberta, I honed my leadership and teamwork skills.
My expertise includes intermediate-level knowledge of Visual Basic, WordPress, and AWS, as well as advanced proficiency in Python, C/C++, and React. I have experience with a range of software development tools and techniques, including multi-threading, cloud computing, and QA/unit testing.
I am particularly proud of my notable projects, which are available on GitHub and include machine learning and AI algorithms for data-based predictions, a multi-player online web-based game, and an Android app that allows users to track habits and locations. I was also the federal winner of the NASA/CSA Space App Data Processing and Visualization Challenge and have received multiple Canadian and American leadership awards.
In my previous positions, I have successfully developed and implemented new tools and systems, such as a custom ArcGIS Pro StratPick Manager Add-In and a File Geodatabase ETL tool. I have also conducted comprehensive testing on web-enabled applications and physical devices, as well as thorough product reviews for user usability.
As a committed member of the community, I have been involved in various initiatives, including working on the Autonomous Robotic Vehicle Project and AlbertaSat-Ex Alta 2, which helps scientists observe vegetation growth to prevent wildfires. As an energy consultant for Direct Energy, I effectively communicated with customers and maintained the brand's reputation by demonstrating the highest standards of sales ethics.
I am excited to bring my skills and experience to a new team and to continue to grow and learn in the software development field.
