My name is Charles Robertson, I am a red seal journeyman glazier. I have been in the glass industry for 20 years. Last year I challenged for my red seal certificate through the trade qualifier and successfully achieved my red seal with a theory exam score of 91% and a practical score of 84%.
I have experience in a wide variety of commercial glazing systems and specialty glass installation as well as fabrication. I have over ten years of site supervisory experience with crews ranging from small to medium size. I am a proud glazier and have pride in my work.
Fabricator - Durabuilt Commercial Glazing

My position at Durabuilt Commercial was as a fabricator working under the shop foreman. I worked on various commercial glazing systems including Kawneer, Alumicor and OBE, to name the most common. Door hardware installation was also common such as installing: Panics, Paddles, Strikes, Latches and EPT's. Having the experience I have, management would periodically require me to go to sites or businesses to perform service work.
Site Supervisor - Leading Edge Glass and Aluminum

At Leading Edge I worked as a site supervisor for the glazing contractor. This job included coordinating with the general contractor, other sub contractors and various material suppliers. Curtain wall and store front were the most common systems used while working here.
Site Supervisor - Alberta Glass

At Alberta Glass I worked as a site supervisor/foreman working with a variety of aspects of the trade, including curtain wall, store front, sloped glazing, interior glass packages as well as specialty glass projects.
Crew Foreman - Ice District (Edmonton Tower and the JW Marriott)

At the ice district I worked on the tower installing some unitized panelling but I was also working on the podium as the entrance installation foreman, canopy installation foreman and balcony starter track installation foreman.
Beginner glazier - Site Foreman - Architectural Glass

Architectural glass was where I started in the trade, starting as a beginner glazier to a site foreman. At this company I started in the shop learning the basics of the glass trade from material handling to fabrication to glass cutting eventually graduating up to site foreman.
