Currently working as a postdoctoral associate, I have a Ph.D. in neuroscience with an undergraduate major in biomedical sciences, with much academic experience at the research and teaching levels.

• I lead a project where I characterize a pre-clinic mouse model of a neurodegenerative disorder (Adult-onset leukoencephalopathy with axonal spheroids and pigmented glia) utilizing methods such as animal behavior, biochemistry/molecular biology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (different models of diffusion-weighed imaging), microscopy, etc.
• I have experience with machine learning (neural networks) for detecting movement (DeepLabCut, open-source software for tracking animals in behavioral experiments).
• I have intermediate knowledge of R (programming language) for data analysis and visualization.
• I wrote a successful grant (BrainsCAN) which allowed me to extend my time as a postdoctoral associate
• I have presented my project on many different occasions, from university internal programs to national symposiums (e.g., Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging).

Ph.D. Student (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro/RJ) 2014 - 2019

• I led a project where I characterized a mouse model of neuropsychiatric disorder induced by chronic stress (post-weaning social isolation), using methods such as animal behavior, cell quantification, and Magnetic Resonance imaging.
• I was responsible for developing and maintaining numerous studies in collaboration with different research groups (e.g., characterization of different pre-clinical animal models studies).
• I conceived and led a project outside the field of my expertise, project which was published in a prestigious international journal.
• I lectured Functional Neuroanatomy (theoretical and practical classes) (UFRJ).
• I mentored two undergraduate students.
• I wrote and published articles in international journals, both as a first author and a co-author.
