I am a recent graduate from Seneca College in the field of Veterinary Assistant. I have a strong understanding of animal care and husbandry. Able to provide the proper restraint for blood withdrawal, and urine extraction. I have a understanding of animal nutrition and pharmacology. FIELD PLACEMENT: THE ANIMAL CLINIC, Toronto, ON April 24, 2023 – May 5, 2023

Veterinary Assistant The field placement provided the opportunity to gain experience working at a busy clinic in downtown Toronto and gain hands-on experience in animal care.

• Developed my skills in compassionate animal care and husbandry. Prepared clean bedding, water, and food as directed by veterinary team members. 
• Cleaned and sanitized exam rooms, surgical rooms, and treatment areas. Maintained overall cleanliness of the clinic. Gained experience in surgical pack preparation and cleaning of surgical tools.
• Provided animal restraint when needed, effectively position patients for blood withdrawals, urine extraction, and IV catheters. Helped position patients for diagnostic radiographs.

Quality Control (QC) Operator

Provided Quality Assurance for corrugate clients. Reviewed pre-press and production artwork for alignment with printer standards. Worked with pre-press operators and project managers to fix ongoing pre-press production art errors.

• Delivered online QC training to staff in Manila, Philippines; topics included how to read printer specs, what to look out for on corrugated packaging, and how to report amends. Staff in Manila were able to assist with Quality Control for corrugated packaging.
• Verified online master log, ensuring accuracy of Quality Control (QC) information (amend reason, city location, and project manager); the information was inputted live, using Microsoft Excel, through Microsoft Teams.

Design Specialist

Prepared files for pre-press, page layout, and colour matching for printed materials, such as posters, brochures, business cards, letterheads, and banner stands. Produced plates for offset printing.

• Built repeat business and helped clients meet needs by providing ongoing customer service and clearly explaining suitable services and products.
• Worked with a large team at one of the busiest branches in Toronto. Communicated with team members on job details and deadlines, achieving the best quality product.
• Managed customer expectations and projects by communicating processes and timelines, and meeting customer needs. Recommended paper types, finishing, binding materials to customers, ensuring job was done to customer’s satisfaction.
