With roots in India, memories in Europe, and wings in Canada, I am a wanderer at heart, while by profession, I am an aspiring “B. Com candidate with a specialist in management and a minor in Economics and Digital Humanities and focussing in Strategy and Innovation” at Rotman Commerce, University of Toronto.
Unlike people who like defined borders, I prefer to blur the boundaries and mix everything with my own unique twist. Rather than focusing on individual components, I favour big pictures (the theatre is almost always better than the laptop).
I have personally seen or experienced many pertinent issues plaguing the world today - illiteracy and environmental issues topping the list. Though wishing on a shooting star still hasn’t changed the world, I have learned to carve out little corners that start making a difference.
Two left feet, but still dancing; can’t carry a voice in a bucket, but still singing; I take challenges head on and improve myself constantly. Starting with no prior experience in marketing when my aesthetics were questioned, I polished myself to eventually become a Director level role with innovative ideas.
It’s hard enough growing up, and even harder to be different. Not having the astronaut dream, not wanting to be a doctor, engineer, or lawyer when everyone around you aspires to be one, makes you question and carve out your own path every step of the way.
I have questioned myself about anything and everything, which has turned into a trait, one that now makes me recheck any work many times over to see if anything can be done better/differently.
You can always catch me up with a conversation about various topics, but the best way is to bring up Spain and the La Sagrada Familia, and I can assure you that we will regret forgetting to set alarms!
Dreaming of the day that I can proudly label myself a linguaphile, my current interests range from daily check-ins with Duo the owl, watching TED videos, new interpretations of mythology, travelling, and destressing with origami, and some classics after a long day!
Microsoft word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google docs, Slides, Sheets Zoom come naturally to me. I have worked on ArcGIS, Storymaps, Tableau, Palladio, Voyant, Omeka, and Twine softwares; and I thrive in teamwork, adaptability and responsibility.
