Server, FOH Manager at EGGSTASY (2003-01 – 2006-12)
Employed as a server in a fast-paced restaurant in downtown Toronto, focused largely on breakfast and lunch. I worked at both the Church St. and Yorkville locations, and was FOH manager at the Yorkville location. As FOH manager I developed a staffing formula that sorted out a muddled scheduling situation while reducing FOH labour costs. I also instituted policies which ended a serious staff turnover problem.

At Caseys we focused on Critical Guest Interaction. This meant putting emphasis on assisting our guests with our menu and menu specials, while paying close attention to their specific needs. There were many opportunities for up-selling, and I won prizes in various sales contests.

Employed as a server in a breakfast/lunch restaurant. Coras was relatively new to Toronto when I worked there, and guests were often perplexed by the unique breakfast menu. This made it very important that I "introduce" the menu to guests, and answer their questions. Organization and multi-tasking were essential.
Server at MOTHERS DUMPLINGS (2014-01 – 2020-03)
This well-known Chinese restaurant in Toronto's Chinatown has a fluid work environment, in which servers have to be able to step in at any table, and carry on where other servers have left off. While we worked in sections, all servers have access to all tables on the computer, and can add to orders or print off bills for any table, and often do. Effective communication and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment.
