About

I have worked several years helping grow a small business, gaining experience in building relationships and problem solving. During this time, I was also completing my equivalency exams with the NCA.

I am passionate about helping contribute to build more diverse, accessible, and engaging legal services. There is sometimes a disconnect between people and the legal help they require. Legal services should easier to access and more efficiently provided.

Legal research is a skill that I started developing in my undergraduate degree, through research projects on crime in antiquity. Later while studying law at the University of Aberdeen, I was able to utilize Westlaw UK to do case analysis. While an NCA candidate I used LexisNexis to do research and help me prepare for the exams.

Experience

I am currently employed with GGFI Law LLP in Kitchener, Ontario. I work as a corporate law clerk; my duties include, assisting lawyers, clerks and support staff in management of files and matters. Producing annual maintenance documents through Appara and precedent for lawyer review. Creating invoices and assigning fees using PC Law and Soluno. Liaise with accountants and clients regarding status of documents and clarification of instructions. I started at GGFI Law LLP in April 2024.

I previously helped manage Burke's Tent Rentals in Fergus, Ontario. My role was crew/warehouse supervisor, my role included managing multiple events throughout a day, and supervising a staff of 12. I liaised with building inspectors, clients, and engineers to determine adequate adherence to code and ensure installs met client expectations. I conducted interviews for seasonal staff, managed employee and job schedules. I worked at Burke's Tent Rentals between May 2019 and June 2023.
