I am a third-year software engineering student at McMaster University. In review of my resume, you will notice that engage with many software fields including web development, data and analytics, machine learning, robotics, and academic studies through competitive programming and university courses. I believe that having a strong fundamental understanding of a variety of topics is necessary to being able to solve complex problems as a software engineer.
My goal this summer is to work on a project that is meaningful to its users as well as for myself, in terms of being challenging and promoting my learning and growth. I am Edward Gao, a third-year Software Engineering student at McMaster University. I have worked as a Full Stack Developer at Menlolab and as a Junior Developer at AGF Investments. At Menlolab, I created frontend Vue components, graph algorithms, and designed networking infrastructure to enable users to run flows on both local and cloud compute. At AGF Investments, I created tests to improve auth security and form validation using Junit and Python scripts.
I am also the VP of Training at McMaster Competitive Programming, where I deliver weekly lectures on algorithms and data structure topics to 50+ students and represented McMaster at the ICPC competition for the past 3 years.
I am a third-year Software Engineering student at McMaster University in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I have been a full-time student at McMaster University since September 2019 and expect to graduate in May 2024.
As a student at McMaster, I have gained a strong foundation in various programming languages and concepts, including Python, Java, C++, data structures, algorithms, software design, and testing. My coursework has also focused on computer systems, software engineering, databases, and web development.
