Hello My name is Ian Ponsford and thank you for your consideration.
I am a former Mechanic / Vehicle technician / and Trades Instructor with the Department of National Defence.
I was tasked with the role of senior vehicle mechanic and work section supervisor. I was responsibe for the safe development and training of new technicians , the planning , the organizing , and the distribution of daily work tasks.
It was my responsibility to organize our daily morning safety meetings and work goals. I would speak with the technicians, confirm diagnosis and repair procedures, it as my responsibilty also to coordinate with the Parts department , Order replacement parts and ensure all work was completed safely and accurately.
I was also the Occupational Safety and Health Representative , Maintaing a level 1 emergecy First aid with CPR and AED, plus WHMIS and The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification .
I am confident with mentoring, motivating and delegating. I am experienced with conflict resolution and workplace violence prevention . I am responsible and experienced with maintaining strict deadlines and schedules , while following and maintaining standard operating procedures and company directives.
