As a dedicated and compassionate individual with experience in both nursing and mentorship, I bring a diverse skill set to my role as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). My background includes hands-on clinical experience in postpartum and pediatric care at SHN Centenary, where I provided patient-centered care and supported new mothers and infants. I am currently studying nursing and working as a peer tutor and ambassador, guiding first-year students through their coursework in BSN programs.
I’m passionate about improving patient outcomes, especially in maternal and pediatric health, and aim to bring the same level of care, attentiveness, and knowledge to my role as a PSW. My experience working in fast-paced environments, such as restaurants, has also strengthened my ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and stay calm under pressure.
As a aspiring nurse, I am committed to building on my skills and experiences to contribute to patient well-being, always prioritizing dignity, respect, and compassionate care.
I have clinical experience in postpartum and pediatrics care from SHN Centenary, where I assisted in patient care, monitored vital signs, and supported new mothers and infants with their postpartum needs. As a peer tutor and ambassador in the Nursing Student Tutoring, Ambassadorship, and Mentorship Program (NSTAMP) at York University, I provide academic guidance to first-year nursing students, helping them with coursework, study techniques, and time management. My experience extends to tutoring pharmacology, biomedical terminologies, and statistics, equipping me with strong communication and organizational skills.
Additionally, I have worked in a restaurant environment, enhancing my ability to manage fast-paced situations and improve customer service skills.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at York University, where I have developed a strong foundation in nursing theory and clinical practice. I have completed coursework in pharmacology, biomedical terminology, statistics, and ethics, and have hands-on experience in postpartum care. Additionally, I have taken courses in computer science and am skilled in using Microsoft Office.
I am passionate about applying my knowledge to improve patient outcomes and have interests in research, specifically in maternal and pediatric health, biomedical engineering, and cell biology.
