Finlay Bishop

I'm a junior developer in Calgary who builds web apps and automations with AI coding tools. This year I built Booth Buddy, a floor plan and vendor manager that Alberta Beer Festivals used to lay out 100+ booths at the 2026 Calgary International Beerfest. I'm now finishing a paid four-month build of a wellness app for a client, where I run the weekly scoping calls and account updates as well as the development.

I work in Claude Code, Lovable, and n8n, and I've completed Anthropic's Claude Code in Action and Claude Code 101 courses. Before this I worked retail at Canadian Tire, Crate & Barrel, and GreenGate, so I'm comfortable explaining things to people and working as part of a team. Outside of code, I'm a musician and have just released an album this year.

I'm looking for a junior role where I can build internal tools that save people time.

Freelance App Developer, Self-employed (Feb 2025 – Present)

• Built Booth Buddy, an event floor plan and vendor manager, for Alberta Beer Festivals. It was used to lay out 100+ booths and vendors at the 2026 Calgary International Beerfest.

• Building The Gift of Happy (Explore 84), a habit tracking and wellness app, on a paid four-month contract. I run weekly scoping calls and manage the client relationship as well as building the app.

• Work in Lovable, Claude Code, and n8n with React, TypeScript, and Supabase.

• Helped customers choose plants, gave garden care advice, and kept the department stocked.

• Filled in-store and online orders, unloaded deliveries, and worked with floor staff to get customers the right products.

• Customer service, inventory support, and seasonal changeovers.
