- Build and operate a multi-tenant SaaS time clock: for dental and healthcare practices. Kiosk clock-in, payroll verification, sick-day accrual and BC Employment Standards Act calculations.
- Retrofitted single-database multi-tenancy onto a live payroll database: tenant-scoped 15 tables and rebuilt eight uniqueness constraints as composites.
- Designed the authentication stack by hand: cache-backed bearer tokens with a token-version column that invalidates every session on password change, plus kiosk auth using per-location tokens, station PINs and single-use punch tokens.
- Diagnosed a production outage that was not in the code: the web SAPI had silently drifted to a different PHP build with mbstring disabled while CLI PHP was untouched; isolated it by probing runtime and extension state against the CLI binary.
- Designed the per-employee billing metric: distinct employees who punched in the period, with a high-water mark that never falls so a staffing spike cannot produce a surprise invoice.
- Built the admin and kiosk interface framework-free: vanilla JavaScript on Blade shells, and integrated Stripe Checkout, Billing Portal and signature-verified webhooks.
- Operate the deployment: SSH Git deploys, scheduled commands for forgotten-clock-out alerts and photo retention, per-tenant email and SMS, and punch photos served only through six-hour signed URLs.
Software Developer (Co-op) at Project Equifood (2022-09 – 2023-03)
- Built the REST API in Node.js and Express.js serving inventory, donation and user-account data to a React single-page client for a food-redistribution platform.
- Designed the MariaDB schema and wrote the SQL behind inventory tracking and user management.
- Owned the design documentation: authored the UML diagrams for a cross-functional team, then planned and drove the sprints against them.
