I have decided to write a letter including some personal background information, professional experiences as well as valid arguments as to why I would be a good fit for the job position. I have had my eyes set on international job for numerous years now. I attended high school at Iringa Girls Secondary School in Iringa, Tanzania from the year 2003 to 2005. Whilst in high school I concentrated on mathematics, economics and geography. After graduating from Iringa Girls Secondary School, I decided to take a gap year to allow myself to think through my plans for the future and also to acquire some work experience. During that time, I worked at Impala Hotel, Arusha as a Senior personal secretary and sometimes as cashier. Working at Impala Hotel provided me with useful work experience and allowed to develop skills.
After couple of months of working at the Impala Hotel, I thought it would be best to continue my education at the Institute of Accountancy, Arusha. I attended the institute from 2005 to 2008 from which I gained an advanced Diploma in Accountancy as mentioned in my CV. As part of my field work at the institute, I interned at East Africa Community for eight months (for further information on my responsibilities see CV). I then decided to further my education at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff in Cardiff, United Kingdom. While attending school at the University, I worked part time at McDonald Fast Food as a customer service manager and full time for years at Priors court foundation supporting autism young adult as learning facilitator. And I was blessed to work in at Star city hotel as general manager for some years and as restaurant supervisor at Sunrise Caribbean restaurant in Canada, Toronto, Ontario. And now I am full time staff at Absa bank Tanzania as customer service advisor, Arusha branch.
From my past and current experiences I have gained a lot of skills and knowledge that I will be able to apply if I am given the offered position advertised. Some of my strengths include the ability to adapt to a new environment and learn new things very quickly. I consider myself to be a very collaborative person, this is because I believe that teamwork is an effective strategy when accomplishing a task. As you are aware I have spent some time abroad, this has exposed me to new cultures and ideas which has translated well into my communication skills, which is a factor that I think is important when working with a variety of people. However, just like any human being I have weaknesses. My greatest weakness would probably be making sure that all is well at the workplace. I sometimes find myself going the extra mile to help my co-workers whenever necessary and trying not to disappoint anyone around me. I am not implying that helping people is a weakness I am simply saying that over the year I have learnt to be more assertive. I have learnt to distinguish and prioritize projects. I now know when to help others without jeopardizing my own work.
In conclusion, I believe that I deserve this offered position because I would be a great asset to the company. I have a solid educational background, a lot of experience and exposure that sets me aside from other candidates. All in all, I am determined, passionate about accounting, operation, planning and qualified for this job.
I look forward to finalizing an arrangement and hope that we can work together soon.
